Overview
Madhya Pradesh has the largest area under forest cover (~25%). The state however, has lagged behind in recognition of forest rights. Our work here is focused on two levels:
- Action-oriented work in the Baiga Chak region covering issues of forest villages, IFR claim-making and CFR claim-making.
- Policy outreach at the state-level through representation on various committees related to the FRA and Scheduled Tribes.
