Ecotourism training workshop for CFR villages (Bastar) (CG)

ATREE organized a one-day training workshop on eco-tourism in Bastar on 15 February 2025, in Jagdalpur, Bastar district. The workshop was attended by 35 participants from six villages: Netanar, Gudiyapadar, Tiriya, Gumalwada, Nagalsar, and Dhudmaras. These villages have initiated tourism activities, including kayaking, bamboo rafting, and provision of picnic spots in their Community Forest Resource (CFR) areas. The training was led by Aditi Chanchani, who has been engaged in the field of sustainable tourism for over 20 years. She shared crucial insights on tourism impacts and issues, global and local examples and best practices for sustainable and nature-based tourism.
The primary objective of the workshop was to make participants aware of the crucial social, economic, and environmental factors to ensure sustainable nature-based tourism.
